Celine Dion’s Brother Daniel Dying Of Cancer, Death Is “Imminent”

Celine Dion’s brother Daniel is dying of cancer, Gossip Cop confirms. The sad news comes just one day after the death of Dion’s husband Rene Angelil.

Tragically, now Dion’s rep tells Gossip Cop that Daniel’s death is “imminent.” He is currently in Montreal, where he has been battling cancer in his throat, tongue, and brain. We’re told it “could be hours” or “days” until he succumbs to the illnesses.

Daniel, 59, is one of Dion’s 13 siblings. She is the youngest in their family, which remains based in Canada. Their 89-year-old mother, Therese, is among the relatives currently at his bedside.

Dion was in Nevada Thursday when Angelil, 73, passed away at their Las Vegas home following his own battle with throat cancer. Angelil, whom she wed in 1994, is credited with discovering Dion and turning her into a superstar. He managed her career for decades, before stepping down due to health woes.

Dion and Angelil have three children together, and he also leaves behind adult kids from two previous marriages. In the wake of his passing, the singer has canceled residency concerts scheduled for this weekend, and is not expected to resume her performances until late February. The superstar has not released a public statement, but she has received an outpouring of support from celebrities on social media, where stars have been tweeting their condolences.

Celine Dion will hold a tribute concert in memory of her late husband Rene Angelil at the Caesars Palace Colosseum in Las Vegas on February 3. The event is being dubbed a “Celebration of Life,” in which the singer will honor Angelil’s memory.

As Gossip Cop reported, Angelil died at their Las Vegas home on Thursday following a lengthy battle with throat cancer. He was first diagnosed with the disease in 1998, and his health seemed to have improved until 2014 when the cancer returned.

The 73-year-old former musician discovered Dion when she was just a teen. The two later got married in 1994, and had three children together, Rene-Charles, 14, and 5-year-old twin boys Nelson and Eddy. In Angelil’s obituary, Dion is described as “the great love of his life, the artist for which he had the most respect, the woman who gave him light and happiness until his very last breath.”

Angelil’s funeral will be held at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, the same cathedral where he and Dion were married 21 years ago. On January 21, there will be a public viewing, where fans can pay their respects to Angelil, followed the next day by a religious ceremony for friends and family. In addition to the children he had with Dion, Angelil is also survived by his three older children from previous marriages.

Once again, Gossip Cop sends our thoughts and prayers to Dion and Angelil’s family during this difficult time.

Jennifer Aniston Slammed Celine Dion Over Anti-Donald Trump Remarks?

Jennifer Aniston Celine Dion Donald Trump

(Getty Images)

Did Jennifer Aniston actually slam Celine Dion after the Canadian singer allegedly bashed the United States and President Donald Trump? That’s the claim coming from a fake news website. Gossip Cop, however, can clear up the situation.

The untrustworthy blog Daily News For Americans, which features phony headlines without any articles attached, insists Dion has been making inflammatory marks about America. The first of many bogus headlines about the singer quotes her as having said, ““I can’t even look at an American flag anymore. I hate this country.” The site also quotes her as sniping, “I just earned all my wealth under your ugly flag. Now, I don’t need you anymore. So go to hell everyone. I’m Leaving U.S.” Dion never made such comments.

Another headline blares, “VIDEO: Celine Dion Burns American Flag And Trump’s Picture At Her Concert In Las Vegas.” Of course, no such footage exists. And another phony title states, “Celine Dion Says: America Is Not Even Country, It Is Destroyed By Trump And His Governance, So Our country Needs A Worthy President Like Obama.” Once again, none of these headlines are followed by any actual content.

Still, the phony site posted a follow-up headline that reads, “Jennifer Aniston To Celine Dion: ‘You’re Wrong Celine. The U.S Was Destroyed By Obama And Muslim Terrorists and Now Trump Going To Make Obama’s Destroyed America Great Again. Also If You Hate Trump You Can Go In Your Country.'” But the Canadian singer never bashed Trump or the U.S., and Aniston didn’t issue a response to nonexistent comments. Although Dion reportedly turned down an offer to perform at Trump’s inauguration earlier this year, she hasn’t bad-mouthed the U.S. leader. None of the previously mentioned quotes are real.

Daily News For Americans is a site containing nothing but fabricated headlines and baseless click-bait. There aren’t even any actual articles to be found. It should be noted, this isn’t the first time that the outlet has concocted a phony headline about an A-list actress coming to the president’s defense. Gossip Cop just busted the site for falsely claiming Julia Roberts called Trump “the best president in U.S. history.” The latest headline surrounding Aniston and Dion is equally baseless.

Celine Dion Plastic Surgery “Disaster” Story Is Not True

Celine Dion Plastic Surgery

(Getty Images)

Celine Dion has not recently had plastic surgery that’s left her looking like a “disaster,” despite a new tabloid report. Gossip Cop can correct this claim, which is based entirely on speculation. Actually, it’s clear from photos of her in July 2017 and from just two days ago that the singer looks pretty much the exact same from year to year.

In yet another article designed to be sensational, the National Enquirer maintains Dion has “reportedly undergone extreme facial fixes that… have backfired badly.” The publication further contends she looks “terrible” and “totally different from just a year ago.” Not surprisingly the magazine doesn’t mention where it’s been “reportedly” asserted she’s had plastic surgery that made he look like a “disaster.” In fact, a search online appears that the supermarket tabloid itself is the one that started the false rumor.

After noting how Dion lost her husband and manager Rene Angelil in 2016, an unnamed “source” is quoted as gratuitously saying, “She totally lost her looks” afterwards and is “unrecognizable.” The same unidentified and untraceable “source” asserts, “The word is she went under the knife to try and give herself a fresh start… It clearly hasn’t turned out very well.” Again, “the word” from where? Who’s making these allegations?

The magazine follows its practice of quoting anonymous sources using vague general terms, such as “reportedly” and “the word is,” with another tabloid trick, having a doctor who’s never treated the subject of the story offer his or her opinion, based on photos that the magazine chose. Alongside an unflattering picture of Dion dressed down and signing an autograph, the plastic surgeon named Dave David offers that he believes she had Botox, but feels, “She looks terrible, haggard and homely.” And even though he shares how he thinks the Grammy winner looks “homely” and “terrible” from possible cosmetic work, Dr. Dave David adds, “her teeth look better,” “now she has a chiseled chin,” and overall “looks like a completely different person.”

To recap: The tabloid says Dion “reportedly” has “extreme facial” plastic surgery and it came out a “disaster.” To support its claim, the magazine then has a doctor, who’s never been within 25 feet of the singer, look at less than flattering images of her and declare she looks “terrible.” And then a few sentences later, the same plastic surgeon seemingly praises the cosmetic work he thinks she may have done. Lastly, Dr. Dave David announces she “looks like a completely different person” from last year.

Now let’s look at two Getty Images (below) of Dion. The photo on the left is from when she played the Allianz Riviera Stadium in Nice, France on July 20, 2017. The picture on the right is from her concert at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia this past Friday, exactly 53 weeks after the first shot was taken. You’ll notice Dion looks not “completely different,” but virtually exactly the same.

Celine Dion

(Getty Images)

Dion’s rep not only assures Gossip Cop the article is untrue, but she even told the tabloid on the record that the performer hasn’t had any new cosmetic work done, and yet the magazine still dismissed the spokesperson’s remarks, which in this instance double for reality. Instead, the often disproven publication decided to ends its piece with its unnamed and possibly nonexistent “insider” taking a cheap shot, alleging the singer had plastic surgery and relating how it “backfired and ended in total disaster.” But even if you disregard the rep’s comments or Dion herself saying she wouldn’t do Botox or anything that might affect her performances, just based on the photos above of her, it’s clear the only thing that “backfired” and is a “disaster” is the Enquirer’s article.

Of course, the outlet doesn’t have a stellar record when reporting about the singer. A couple of years ago, Gossip Cop busted the same magazine when it swore up and down Dion was dating her guitarist Kevin Girouard. That was a total falsehood, as is the latest claim. The only surgery she’s had recently was on her ears. In March, Dion posted on Facebook that she had to cancel a concert in Las Vegas because she underwent a minimally invasive procedure in her middle ear that affected her hearing and singing.

Celine Dion, Russell Crowe NOT Dating, Despite Report

Russell Crowe Celine Dion Dating

(Getty Images)

Celine Dion and Russell Crowe are not dating, despite a completely false tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the claim. A rep for the singer tells us it’s simply not true.

A story in the latest issue of OK!, which was later posted online by HollywoodLife, says the stars have been comforting each other as she continues to cope with the 2016 death of husband Rense Angelil, and he navigates life after his divorce from ex-wife Danielle Spencer. An alleged insider tells the magazine, “They’ve been seeing each other quietly for a few weeks and although it’s still very new, it seems like they’ve known each other for a lifetime.”

The magazine goes on to say that although the supposed romance seems “unexpected,” Crowe has had a crush on the singer for a long time. “He’s been aware of her for years, and when her husband died he really felt for her,” says the outlet’s questionable source. The supposed tipster further claims that the actor has been “very romantic and sentimental” towards Dion as he opens up to her about his divorce.

“Celine can see the pain he’s been through and she wants to help,” adds the alleged insider. “It’s a lovely thing to have happened to both of them. They each feel like they’ve found someone who understands them completely.” The magazine’s story is based on claims from an anonymous and seemingly nonexistent “source,” but Gossip Cop checked in with Dion’s spokesperson, who tells us on the record she’s “not dating” the actor.

Here’s what’s really happening. Back in July, New Zealand comedy duo Madeleine Sami and Jackie van Beek posted a video on Twitter inviting Dion to see their new movie, The Breaker Uppers, during her Australian tour. Crowe later retweeted their post, and added, “Hey @celinedion, remember that time we met in the elevator at the @FourSeasons in LA? Yeah. Me too. Anyway, please see below. The way Canadians are polite, New Zealanders are sincere. These girls have a lot of love for you. They made a movie. Would you see it? Regards, RC.”

The magazine seemingly made up the romance rumors simply because Crowe encouraged Dion to see a movie and noted that he once met her in an elevator. The outlet even says in its bogus article that the two had crossed paths years ago “in a rom-com worthy fashion.” The tabloid doesn’t explain why running into someone in an elevator is reminiscent of a romantic comedy. The unreliable outlet also fails to mention how the two supposedly met up again all these years later. OK!’s ridiculous report is based on nothing but Crowe giving a shoutout to Dion on Twitter.

Celine Dion In Romance With Young Hunk?

Celine Dion is in a “shocking romance with a hunk nearly half her age,” reports on one this week’s tabloids. The claim about her having a young boyfriend is not only wrong, but it’s also more than a year old. Gossip Cop is exclusively told it’s simply “not true.”

According to Globe, nearly three years after the death of her husband Rene Angelil, Dion is “ready to move on” with one of her backup dancers, Pepe Munoz. The supermarket tabloid, which dubs their relationship “romantic,” contends the 50-year-old singer wants to take “a chance at love” with Munoz, who’s 33 (not 32 or “nearly half her age,” as the magazine alleges). “She is finally ready to stop grieving and start living,” says the outlet’s unnamed “source.”

The same untraceable and possibly made-up “insider” asserts, “[Dion] never expected to feel this way again.” In bizarrely unnatural language, the supposed “source” further maintains, “Their sexy dances onstage detonated a passion in Celine and she wants to have time to enjoy what she considers her last chance at love,” adding, “Pepe has put a pep in her step.”

The so-called “insider,” who seems to be hiding under Dion’s living room couch to gather these details, alleges the singer and Munoz often “order in dinner, put on some music and dance to bossa nova or salsa.” “He’s a total romantic,” concludes the anonymous and almost assuredly fake “source.”

This narrative wasn’t true in August 2017 when the tabloid’s sister publication, Star, first printed it, and it’s still wrong. Curiously, the new piece and the previously debunked article share similar phrases (though now from the “source”), including how Munoz has put a “pep in her step,” and that Dion is willing to take a “chance at love” with the backup dancer. And it wasn’t just Gossip Cop that reported Dion and Munoz are not dating, even TMZ said last year the two were not romantically involved.

Recently, Munoz himself said, “These rumors really amused us,” noting how he and Dion “laugh about them.” Still, Gossip Cop checked in again with a rep for the singer, and we’re exclusively told, “It’s the same story, and it’s not true.” The spokesperson, who’s authorized to talk on Dion’s behalf, says they “spend a lot of time together… as friends.”

It also bears mentioning, the tabloid’s other sister magazine, OK!, claimed two months ago that Dion was dating Russell Crowe. Actually, the singer and the movie star met only once many years ago in an elevator. Much like that 100 percent fabricated tale, the latest article again linking Dion to her backup dance is similarly made-up and untrue.

Celine Dion Furious Over Britney Spears Surpassing Her As Highest-Paid Las Vegas Performer?

Is Celine Dion furious that Britney Spears will be surpassing her as the highest-paid performer in Las Vegas? That’s the claim in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk it.

It was announced earlier this month that Spears is returning to Las Vegas for another residency, which will launch at the Park Theater at Park MGM in February. The singer is reportedly earning an astounding $507,000 per show, making her the highest-paid entertained in Sin City. Dion, whose residency at Caesars Palace wraps up in June 2019, previously held the crown with $476,000 per performance.

According to the National Enquirer, Dion is irate that Spears will be outgrossing her. An alleged insider tells the magazine, “Celine thinks her residency gave a big boost to the city. She’s furious that she’s not going out on top.” Gossip Cop, however, has learned this premise is entirely fabricated.

The tabloid’s article is based on claims from an anonymous and seemingly imaginary “source,” but Gossip Cop checked in with Dion’s rep, who tells us on the record that it’s untrue. The singer’s spokesperson, who’s qualified to speak on her behalf, tells us Dion might not even be aware that Spears has signed on for another residency, “much less what she is getting paid.” We’re further told that Dion has “been in the recording studio” working on new music, and that’s her primary focus at the moment.

Additionally, the Enquirer has been known to publish many bogus reports about both singers. In January, Gossip Cop called out the magazine for falsely claiming that Spears was planning a secret wedding in Las Vegas with her boyfriend Sam Asghari. As time has shown, the pop star has yet to walk down the aisle. And in July, Gossip Cop busted the outlet for making up a ridiculous story about Dion undergoing extreme plastic surgery that’s left her looking like a “disaster.” Recent photos of the singer, however, show she looks pretty much the same as she did last year.

Meanwhile, the magazine’s sister outlet, RadarOnline, has proven to have little insight into Spears’ Las Vegas gig. Last year, Gossip Cop busted the blog for wrongly reporting that Spears “couldn’t wait” to finish her Piece of Me residency. Considering that the singer just signed on for a brand new one, it’s clear that article was baseless. This latest one about Dion being “furious” over Spears’ success is equally false.

Rep: Celine Dion Did NOT Send Angelina Jolie’s Kids Gender-Neutral Clothes, Despite Reports

Celine Dion did not send Angelina Jolie’s kids gender-neutral clothes, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this made-up story. We’re told the claim is 100 percent fabricated.

According to RadarOnline, Jolie is “throwing her support” behind Dion’s new gender-neutral clothing line, Celinununu, after the singer supposedly sent the actress’s children a number of pieces from the collection. To make its story sound legitimate, the often discredited blog quotes a so-called “insider” as saying Jolie has dressed her children in the clothes because “she likes the designs but also because she respects where Celine is coming from.” The same either wholly untrustworthy or possibly manufactured “insider” adds how the actress feels the gender-neural clothes are “perfect” her her family, “especially Shiloh, who’s known to enjoy dressing like a boy.”

Actually, the blog didn’t think through its phony narrative because its seemingly fake source’s quotes contradict the entire premise of the article, which is that Dion’s clothes are gender neutral. It’s true Shiloh prefers wearing what’s considered boys’ clothing. But that’s not gender-neutral apparel. What she wears is gender specific. And Dion’s unisex designs are neither what people generally construe as strictly “girlish” or “boyish.”

Although that’s a big red flag, it’s hardly the biggest problem with the habitually disproven website’s article. The larger issue is that it’s all a lie. While the outlet hides behind a unnamed, unaccountable, and purposely untraceable “insider,” Dion’s rep has gone on the record to debunk the tall tale. The singer’s spokesperson exclusively tells Gossip Cop, “Celine and/or Celinununu did not send Angelina Jolie any Celinununu items.”

This is not the first time, of course, RadarOnline has made up a story out of whole cloth. Just a couple of weeks ago, Gossip Cop busted the site when it falsely maintained Jolie plans to do a tell-all TV interview about Brad Pitt in which she’ll slam the father of her six children. We’ve also exposed the outlet when it crafted a fictitious feud between Celin Dion and Cher backstage at the Billboard Music Awards. Actually, footage from that event showed Dion singing and dancing backstage to Cher’s music.

Here’s what appears to be happening. In November, Dion discussed her collaboration with Nununu for her line of gender-neutral clothing for kids. The site then took that and added the angle about her sending Jolie’s kids boxfuls of items. But, as noted above, there’s no truth to the article whatsoever.

Unfortunately, a number of outlets like the Mercury News and the International Business Times took the website’s story and regurgitated the bogus claim without even bothering to fact-check. But a lie repeated is still a lie. Maybe Dion can send the staffers at RadarOnline some new pants since theirs presumably got ruined from being on fire.

Angelina Jolie Turns Down Celine Dion Biopic?

Did Angelina Jolie turned down the chance to play Celine Dion in a movie about the singer’s life? That’s the claim in one of this week’s celebrity magazines. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the report. We’re told it’s 100 percent “not true.”

According to NW, Dion was recently “snubbed” by Jolie, who the singer wanted to “play her in [a] biopic of her life.” A so-called “insider” is quoted as telling the tabloid that for years Dion’s “big passion has been a musical movie adaption of her life, career and marriage” to Rene Angelil, and she was all “set on Ange landing the part,” but Jolie has passed because her “schedule is simply too full” to take on another film project.” The outlet then editorializes that it “would have been perfect casting,” mostly because both women are super thin.

Now that Jolie has allegedly said no to the biopic, asserts the magazine, the Oscar-winner will have to endure the “wrath of beastly Celine.” Its supposed tipster contends Dion is “devastated she’s turning down the role.” “It may be the end of the project altogether,” concludes the seemingly clueless and possible made-up source.

Far from there potentially no longer being any film about the legendary singer, there are actually two competing Dion biopics in the works, and Jolie was never tied to either of them. The first movie that was announced in late January and titled, The Power Of Love, Celine,” will be a French-language film that covers Dion growing up in a large Canadian family, being discovered as a teen, and then becoming an international superstar under the guidance of Angelil, her manager and future husband. The second biopic, which was revealed three weeks later and appears to have Dion’s family’s cooperation, is an English-language movie with the title, Celine Before Celine.

Despite there being nothing whatsoever to indicate Jolie was attached in any way to either project, Gossip Cop still checked in with a source in the actress’ camp, and we were told in no uncertain terms the tabloid’s article is “not true.” It also bears mentioning that while the outlet maintains Jolie as Dion was “perfect casting” (because they’re both skinny), the two biopics are slated to focus mostly on the singer’s rise to fame as a much younger woman.

Not only is NW’s article inaccurate, but its premise is also unoriginal. Back in 2016, Gossip Cop busted the equally unreliable Star for concocting a tale about Jolie making a biopic about Dion. At the time, both a Jolie confidante shot down the claim, and Dion’s rep also assured us the story was incorrect.

Actually, the tabloid has a track record for being provably wrong about the actress. In just the past few months alone, Gossip Cop exposed the outlet for falsely reporting the decidedly single Jolie was dating Keanu Reeves. We also debunked a cover story that untruthfully stated Jolie warned Jennifer Aniston to stay away from Brad Pitt and her kids. That was followed up by an yet another absurd tale about how Jolie was “hooking up” with Justin Theroux to get “revenge” on Pitt and Aniston.

In reality, Pitt has not gotten back together with Aniston, nor has Jolie pursued Theroux or any other man since filing for divorce. And just two moths ago, the magazine published a similar cover story that insisted Jolie warned Charlize Theron to stay away from Pitt and her kids. Of course, as a rep for Pitt told Gossip Cop, the actor was never even romantically involved with the South African actress. Much like those fabricated reports, the latest piece about Jolie turning down the chance to play Celine Dion in a biopic is also nothing more than a work of fiction.

Did Angelina Jolie Really Snub Celine Dion?

Did Angelina Jolie really snub Celine Dion? Picking up on a previously debunked claim, one of this week’s celebrity magazines falsely maintains the actress turned down the opportunity to play Dion in a movie about the singer’s life. As Gossip Cop noted when the rumor was first floated, the premise about Jolie passing on the chance to star as Dion in a biopic is simply untrue.

The latest outlet to report that Jolie nixed Dion’s offer to portray her in a film adaptation about her life and career is the National Enquirer, which doesn’t have a great track record with its articles about the Oscar-winner. A so-called “source” tells the magazine Dion was “dead-set on Angie landing the part.” The alleged insider further asserts Dion is now furious that Jolie rejected her offer because she “considered Angie a good friend.”

As mentioned above, Gossip Cop already busted a story about Jolie turning down Dion’s request to play her in a movie. Oddly, the tabloid contends its “source” quotes were originally given to its sister site, RadarOnline, though they are the exact word-for-word remarks that were first featured in the NW article that Gossip Cop corrected two weeks ago. Regardless of the origin of the quotes, the premise about Jolie snubbing Dion is still 100 percent inaccurate.

Curiously, the new tale makes no mention that there are actually two movies being readied about Dion, one is titled, Celine Before Celine, and the other is a French film that’s being called The Power Of Love, Celine. Naturally, the outlet doesn’t say which project Jolie has supposedly turned down. Of course, as Gossip Cop confirmed last month with an individual in Jolie’s camp, the entire narrative is “not true,” and the actress never snubbed Dion. As we also pointed out in April, the tabloid’s other sister publication, Star, tried claiming in 2016 that Jolie was making a film about Dion’s life, and the singer’s rep stated then there was “no truth” it.

The Enquirer has a history of publishing tall tales about Jolie. Gossip Cop recently shot down a cover story which wrongly alleged Jolie is dying and leaving her fortune only to her son Maddox, while cutting out her other five kids. And we nailed the same publication for untruthfully insisting Jolie was “heartbroken” over Brad Pitt getting “back together” with Jennifer Aniston. That was a complete work of fiction, and so is the current report about Jolie snubbing Dion.

Celine Dion Having A ‘Titanic Breakdown’?

Celine Dion titanic breakdown

(Getty Images)

Celine Dion is not having any sort of breakdown, despite a false report. It’s just the latest incorrect rumor about the singer. Gossip Cop found it to be totally untrue.

The crux of this ridiculous story is based around Dion’s coping with the 2016 death of her husband and manager, René Angélil. With a joke that’s both mean-spirited and decades late, the Globe callously alleges the musical icon is headed for a “titanic breakdown.”

Referencing “pals,” the tabloid claims “the still-grieving widow needs help or she’ll crack up.” According to the tabloid’s dubious sources, the singer has been “burning the candle at both ends with flirty calls with rapper Drake and heavy nightclubbing with gay backup dancer Pepe Muñoz.” It then takes it a step further with allegations about Dion “locking herself in her room to reread texts that René” had sent her.

“She’s scarily thin and barely eats,” another “insider” says. “Many fear she’s going to come to a crashing halt.” The article then makes the bizarre claim that the spark between Dion and Drake is evident due to Dion’s request that he not get a tattoo of her face, as the rapper has done with other influential stars like the Beatles and Denzel Washington. Gossip Cop fails to see how that indicates any sort of “crush” on the rapper, but it’s the only reason the tabloid gives in the entire article.

According to the insider, Dion “doesn’t have an off switch and parties until dawn and is up again by noon. She loves hanging out with Pepe and his friends.” Sometime in the space between partying, spending time with her friends, chasing Drake and raising her children (which the article never mentions), she “hides away in her room, going over the messages René sent her,” finishes the tipster. “It all seems too much.”

The only thing that’s too much is the Globe’s story itself. It’s riddled with falsehoods and mischaracterizations about the singer. Dion has addressed these kinds of rumors several times. It’s true that I’m a little thinner,” Dion said in an interview with ABC in April. “Everything’s fine, nothing’s wrong! I have discovered a new passion: dancing.”

Dion explained in a separate interview with People magazine later that month that she practices ballet four times a week and pointed out that her new dance routines come with weight loss on account of how much energy it burns off. “I’ve never felt as beautiful, as strong,” Dion proudly said, “and I really think that the best is yet to come.”

When asked during the ABC interview what advice she would give to others dealing with grief, Dion passionately responded, “You cannot stop living, and go forward, and today is the first day of the beginning of my life because I know that I don’t have to worry.” She also mentioned her thoughts on the healing process in the People interview as well. “All the little things in life, and the big things, they have to make you stronger,” she said, “Otherwise, you don’t understand the meaning of life itself.”

Additionally, Dion has looked pretty much the same for most of this year. If someone was in such poor shape and on the brink of a collapse, they probably wouldn’t remain on that “brink” for more than half a year. The tabloid also doesn’t bother to mention why, three years after the loss of her husband, she’s just now unable to deal with the situation. As we mentioned earlier, Dion is most likely too busy being a single mom to her three children to spend all of her time clubbing or pursuing a rapper.

RadarOnline, a sister publication of the Globe, ran an incredibly similar story in September 2016, alleging that Dion was “struggling to keep going” after losing weight. The National Enquirer, another sister tabloid, did the same thing in July 2016, incorrectly reporting that Dion was “collapsing” in grief and again referencing Dion weeping behind locked doors. The gossip media continues to have no insight into Dion’s life.

What Celine Dion Has Been Up To Since She Left Las Vegas

Celine Dion in a red dress closes out the opening night of her world tour, Courage

(Getty Images)

Singer and Las Vegas icon Celine Dion shocked many fans and those in the music industry back in 2018 when she announced her next run of performances on the Strip would be her last. In all, she performed more than 1,000 shows in front of more than 4 million people over a stretch of more than 15 years. She took her final bow on June 8, 2019. So, what has she been up to in the six months or so since?

Well, the quick and dirty answer is that she’s used her freedom to play everywhere else in the world with her newly opened schedule. The singer mostly took the summer off from performing live, then officially embarked on the aptly named “Courage Tour”, taking the stage for the first time on September 18 in Quebec City in her native Canada. Thanks to strong demand for tickets, more dates have been added to the yearlong tour, and Dion is now scheduled to perform 121 total shows, ending the trek on September 18 in London. Not surprisingly, the gigs have been earning rave reviews from fans, critics and anecdotally, my own mother who caught the show in Chicago.

The hit tour, while meant to expose her to audiences she may not have seen in a while, is also pulling double duty as the primary support for an album she’s released since her Las Vegas residency ended. The LP, also called Courage, was released on November 15. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts, marking the first time in 17 years that she had a number one album.

In addition to her role as a popular celebrity with millions of fans, Celine Dion is also a mother to three children and the widow to a husband who tragically passed away after a battle with cancer back in 2016. Photos and videos of her being a hockey mom have gone viral over the years, and while she perhaps talks about motherhood a bit less than some other starlets, it’s fair to say raising her kids is still a huge part of her life as well. No doubt touring makes parenting more of a challenge, but she was able to build in almost a month-long break for Christmas and New Year and will take almost another month-long break before she does the European leg in late May.

When Dion first announced she was moving on from her Las Vegas show, there was definitely a feeling of finality about the decision. Her kids were even on hand to take a bow with her, but you never know what might happen in the future. Her Courage tour seems to be stopping in every major city in Europe, the United States and Canada that’s not Las Vegas. It makes sense given how many times both tourists and locals have gotten to see her perform on the Strip, but it still feels like she needs to have a splashy homecoming at some point. I can’t even imagine how much those tickets would go for, and it would certainly generate plenty of press (not that she needs it).

After the final costume change, Celine Dion will go down as one of the most important performers in the history of Las Vegas. Her residency and fruitful partnership with Caesar’s changed the recording industry’s perception of such deals and led to many huge performers camping out in Las Vegas, including Elton John, Britney Spears and more. She’s earned the right to do whatever she’d like with her coming years, and right now, it means using that freedom for tours hitting new destinations, her first English language album in six years and, I’m sure, plenty of wonderful moments with her kids.

The last five years of Celine Dion’s life have been filled with huge ups and downs. Her wildly successful residency that lasted the better part of two decades at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas wrapped up in 2019. And, tragically, her husband, René Angélil, passed away from cancer in 2016. Her new album, Courage, was released last fall, and last week, a short documentary about it was released on Apple Music.

The album is accurately named

In the film, Dion talks about why the album is called Courage. “I’ve been going through tough times,” Dion says, “the loss of René, realizing that I was going to be a single mom. Him and I, we were one person.” His death hit her hard, obviously. She continues, “I kind of felt like for a moment that there was just one half of me. And then you have to go and put on a short dress…” and go on with the show at Caesar’s.

The album helped her though. The French-Canadian explains, “It was really hard because this is my first English album without René. In the process of recording that album, a lot of things changed.” Most importantly, she realized she must be strong — strong for herself and strong for her kids. Still, she questioned herself. “Am I just going to not go on anymore? Or am I going to say, I’m a warrior. I’m a mother. I have strength and I’m going to show them that I can do this,” she said.

So “courage” is the perfect word. Dion says she thinks of Angélil “every day, at least 100 times.” But she is ready to start a new chapter of her life and her career. “You lose the love of your life and you have to carry the house and the children and tell them it’s going to be alright. So I’m not fine, but I am fine because I want to be okay. I need to be okay and I wanted to sing, ‘I’m okay.'”

Celine Dion’s strength has been attacked by tabloids

The strength she shows in the short film refutes a recent story in the Globe that claimed in October that Dion was having a ‘titanic breakdown.’ The phony, tasteless report asserted that the singer was still having trouble dealing with the death of Angélil. It had gotten so bad, according to the unreliable magazine that “the still-grieving widow needs help or she’ll crack up,” as a so-called “pal” told the tabloid. The whole story was not only in poor taste; it was completely false. The latest documentary reveals while she’ll always grieve for her late husband, she is strong and ready to get on with her career and with life with her sons.

Celine Dion Weight Loss Claim False

Celine Dion Weight Loss

Celine Dion is not losing weight, nor is she “struggling,” despite a report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the claims.

The allegations come from RadarOnline, which announces in a headline on Tuesday, “Scary Skinny! Celine Dion ‘Struggling To Keep Going’ After Extreme Weight Loss.” The accompanying story says, “Workaholic Celine Dion might think she’s carrying out her late husband Rene Angelil’s wishes by getting back up on stage, but insiders say she’s absolutely exhausted and her recent drastic weight loss is a direct result of her taking on way too much.”

“Celine’s shed at least seven pounds from her already thin frame and she’s struggling to keep going,” a so-called “concerned friend” tells the webloid. “Her schedule is completely insane, but Celine keeps going because in her mind ‘It’s what Rene would have wanted.'”

The supposed source goes on, “Rene was her manager and always kept her workaholic tendencies under control — he would never have approved of her current workload. She’s losing too much weight too quickly and she really needs some rest and recuperation.”

First off, no “concerned friend” would be talking to RadarOnline about alleged health issues. Second, aside from recently cutting her hair, Dion looks pretty much the same as she has for years. She is not “scary skinny,” but roughly the same size she’s always been.

Furthermore, these claims are coming from the same outlet that falsely said Dion was having an “emotional breakdown” back in July. In actuality, she was happily spending time at Paris Fashion Week and touring. There’s no denying Dion is keeping busy, but it’s not at the expense of her health.

In response to the webloid’s claims, Dion’s spokesperson tells Gossip Cop, “Did you not just see her on ‘Ellen’ and Stand Up To Cancer? Does she look like she lost weight?” The answer, of course, is no. The superstar is doing her best to go about her life after a challenging few months. Outlets like RadarOnline needn’t make it worse.

In Celine Dion’s Darkest Hours, The Show Must Go On

Celine Dion’s heart will go on. If nothing else, the accomplished performer has shown that even when her life is in its lowest moments, she can rise above it and put on a show for her fans. Last month, when she performed in Miami the day after her mother passed away, is the latest, but not only, example.

Two Tragic Deaths Within Days

In 2016, Dion lost her husband of 25 years, René Angélil, and her brother, Daniel Dion, within days of each other. Angélil passed on January 14, and Daniel passed on January 16 – which also happened to be Angélil’s birthday. Dion was in the midst of her record-breaking residency at Caesar’s Palace at the time, and while she canceled her shows for the rest of the month, she was back on stage in February. The singer recently revealed in a documentary on Apple Music about the making of her latest album Courage, how it felt. “I kind of felt like for a moment that there was just one half of me. And then you have to go and put on a short dress…” she said.

Later in the documentary, the French-Canadian added, “Am I just going to not go on anymore? Or am I going to say, I’m a warrior. I’m a mother. I have strength and I’m going to show them that I can do this.” It’s a mantra she has maintained for years now. She showed her strength again earlier this month. Her mother, Thérèse, died at 92 in the early morning of January 17. Thérèse was well known throughout Quebec and Canada, both as Celine Dion’s mother and on her own as the host of a cooking show.

The Show Did Indeed Go On

Just hours after Thérèse died, there was Dion on stage in Miami that night. On stage, she addressed the crowd saying, “I must admit, I’m a little shaky today. My legs are a little wobbly.” After pausing for a deep breath, she continued, “I’m pretty sure that you heard the news about my mom passing away early this morning.” Holding back tears and rubbing her thigh, Dion reassured the crowd that she was “doing ok” and told the crowd what her mother meant to her. She revealed that she had traveled to Montreal to be with her family at Thérèse’s death bed. It was a heartfelt moment that will bring a tear to even the most stoic person.

That’s who Celine Dion is. She may take a lot of grief for her music, but let’s be honest, a lot of that can be blamed on Leonardo DiCaprio and his “king of the world” moment in Titanic. Through it all, Dion has remained steadfast and dedicated to her career and her family.

How Celine Dion Responds To Critics Calling Her Too Thin

Celine Dion is often criticized for being “too thin.” It’s been a barb that’s been thrown at the star by the tabloids for years. Dion has responded to the attacks with a simple message. There is nothing wrong with her body.

“Scary Skinny! Celine Dion ‘Struggling To Keep Going’ After Extreme Weight Loss,” wrote RadarOnline in 2016. It was less than a year after the death of Dion’s husband, René Angélil, and the “My Heart Will Go On” singer was back on stage and wowing audiences. It was really a moment of triumph for the singer, having to overcome not only Angélil’s death but the passing of her brother just days after her husband.

Celine Dion struck back at the haters

The tabloids haven’t let up, and recently, in an interview with ET, Celine Dion answered her critics. “What is wrong with my body?” she asked, flexing her bicep. “When I was 12 years old, my face was rounder because you have more fat, you’re younger, but I’ve always been very thin.” Still, the singer implies that she takes criticism in stride. “If you don’t want to be criticized, you are in the wrong place,” she says, acknowledging that certain media will take shots at celebrities no matter what.

In an earlier inter with CNN, Dion addressed the same subject. She told the outlet, “If I like it, I don’t want to talk about it.” She said it was about what she wanted, not what others think about her physique. Dion continued, “I’m doing this for me, I want to feel strong, beautiful, feminine and sexy.” She fires off a final shot, by saying, “If you like it, I’ll be there, If you don’t, leave me alone.”

The singer is very busy these days

2019 and 2020 have been huge years for the French-Canadian Dion. In January, Celine Dion released her first English-language album since Angélil’s death, appropriately called Courage. She’s also been on tour supporting the album since late last summer, a tour that extends well into 2020. That doesn’t mean the tabloids have backed off, of course.

The tabloids keep at it

Around the same time as the ET interview, Dion canceled four concerts due to throat issues. The gossip media, never missing an opportunity to invent a dramatic story, pounced. The Globe published a phony report alleging that Celine Dion was having a “titanic breakdown” and health crisis. The unreliable outlet quoted what it called “pals” as saying Dion has been, “burning the candle at both ends with flirty calls with rapper Drake and heavy nightclubbing with gay backup dancer Pepe Muñoz.”

Of course, there were also false claims made about Dion’s weight as well. The tabloid’s so-called source said, “She’s scarily thin and barely eats. Many fear she’s going to come to a crashing halt.” None of the allegations were true, as Gossip Cop reported at the time. After vocal rest, Dion was back on tour, and she is still on tour now. There has been no breakdown, even though she tragically lost her mother last month. The show, like her heart, has gone on.

Celine Dion Becoming An Over The Road Truck Driver?

Celine Dion did not become a truck driver. A tabloid made a bogus claim about a year ago that the singer could be giving up music to drive around the country in an 18-wheeler. Gossip Cop can debunk the phony story.

In May 2019, the Globe correctly reported Dion was set to embark on a cross-country concert tour once her residency at Caesars Palace ended. But the tabloid had to include some ridiculous falsehoods and a so-called “source” told the publication “Celine’s ready to shake it up her life in a big way, not only by leaving Las Vegas but living the vagabond life of a trucker.” “Celine has always held a romantic fascination for the life of the long-haul truckers. She said ‘Who knows? Maybe when the tour is over, I’ll have found a new career!’,” the supposed source continued. The publication contended the singer’s “truck lust” comes from wanting to set an example for her three sons, adding, “since [her husband] René’s death Celine has done her best to be both a mother and father to the boys.”

“She has tried to instill in them that they need to get out of their comfort zones and really grab life by the horns,” the alleged insider further stated. The magazine had a picture of the Canadian singer driving a truck to back up its claim. The story, however, is as laughable as it is incorrect. Dion’s 16-year residency did come to an end in June 2019, but it wasn’t because she wanted to drive a truck around the country. The picture the outlet tried to convey as evidence was from a promotional video for her concert tour.

Furthermore, two months before the end of her Las Vegas run, Dion announced her Courage World Tour. The tour began in September of that year but has recently been put on hold due to the coronavirus outbreak. The singer was never looking to become a truck driver, the tabloid’s claims are inconsistent and untrue. It’s no surprise since the sketchy outlet was busted by Gossip Cop in the past for inaccurately writing about Dion.

In October 2019, the Globe claimed Celine Dion was headed for a titanic breakdown. The insensitive article alleged Dion needed help or she would “crack up.” A supposed source alleged Dion was flirting with rappers and out partying until dawn. Gossip Cop set the record straight on the bogus story. Dion is a mother of three teenage boys and was on tour when the outlet made this claim. The entire narrative was false. Sure, that claim is less insane than Dion becoming a trucker, but just as false.
