Celine Dion released a tribute video in honor of her late husband Rene Angelil on Saturday, the one year anniversary of his death. Watch below.
As Gossip Cop has reported, Angelil died on January 14, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. He was 73. Days later, Dion’s brother also died of cancer. The double tragedy understandably devastated the singer and her family. But last February, she and eldest son Rene-Charles paid tribute to Angelil during a “Celebration of Life” event in Las Vegas.
Now Dion is remembering her manager and partner once more. In the new montage, Angelil is seen throughout his life, from pictures of him as a baby to footage of his wedding day with Dion to clips of him with their twins, Nelson and Eddy. Twice the couple is seen doing their hand signal for “I love you.”
The video was posted on Dion’s Facebook page with a simple title: “A year has passed.” Her team further wrote, “Today, January 14th, it’s been a year since Rene left us. He will always be in our hearts.” The same statement was used to caption an Instagram photo on Saturday of Dion and Angelil with their arms around one another. Check out the moving new tribute below.
