There has been speculation, but now Gossip Cop has it officially. Celine Dion‘s Canadian rep tells Gossip Cop, “We can confirm she is pregnant. Celine and Rene [Angelil]” are very happy.”
This is the second child for 41-year-old Dion and her husband/manager. Their son, Rene-Charles, was born in 2001.

It was a great week for Gossip Cop.
We were the first to confirm that Celine Dion was pregnant with her second child at the age of 41.
We then broke the world exclusive of Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony hosting an intimate dinner for Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor at their New York home.
Next we were also the first to dispel the rumor that Paris Hilton and Doug Reinhardt were engaged after talking with Paris’ mom.
And that scoop was followed up with our exposing how the Mirror did not have an interview with Robert Pattinson, as the paper had claimed. Pattinson’s rep even gave Gossip Cop an exclusive comment about it.
On the subject of Pattinson, the “Twilight” star was the focus of a few stories. First, we had footage showing how the paparazzi staked out Pattinson and Kristen Stewart with long lenses when they returned to their Vancouver hotel after going to a Kings of Leon concert. There was also a false report that the two were moving in together. And there was a ridiculous rumor that Stewart fought with Pattinson because she thought Megan Fox was making the moves on him.
Perez Hilton kept us busy this week (as he always does). He reported that Michael Jackson had been buried. Of course, the King of Pop has yet to be buried. Oops. He also had Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz on the “brink of divorce” – again wrong. He even rehashed the incorrect rumor that Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler are hiding a secret on-set romance. And Perez’s fertile imagination took over when he speculated wrongly that Anna Paquin is pregnant, which she is not.
Also this week: Numerous outlets reported that Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens were engaged until Gossip Cop corrected it. And in more Hudgens news, we set the record straight that she is NOT joining the cast of “Twilight.”
In “Idol” gossip, the New York Post claimed that Jessica Simpson was trying to take Paula Abdul’s spot – wrong — but we did report that Joe Jonas was tapped to be a guest judge.
Some stories from the sets of movies included a mysterious item that Brad Pitt was going to do some additional scenes for the “Sherlock Holmes” movie, which has already finished filming, because the studio thought the film was lacking. The only thing lacking were facts – Pitt is not doing “Sherlock Holmes.” In a related note, it was reported that “Sherlock Holmes” star Robert Downey, Jr. was going to take over the role of Lestat in the next “Interview With The Vampire” movie. We took a bite out of that rumor, too. And there were tales of tension between Gwyneth Paltrow and Scarlett Johansson on the set of “Iron Man 2,” but Gossip Cop investigated, and found there was no truth to it.
Speaking of Johansson, there was also a story that Alanis Morissette was writing a tell-all memoir. In it allegedly is a chapter about her times with ex-boyfriend Ryan Reynolds, which the National Enquirer claimed was going to upset his wife Johansson. There is no such chapter, and instead the book will feature Morissette’s photos from the road and some recipes.
It was also a week for wildly crazy rumors. Among them was the story about Eminem dying in a car crash while talking on his cell phone. And then there was that off key story about Mel Gibson doing a duet on his girlfriend’s new album. Equally wrong were articles about Cameron Diaz dating Keanu Reeves and Hugh Grant asking a first-time director for a role – and getting turned down.
Like any good rumor cop, we showed you a fun video of Ashton Kutcher colliding with a paparazzo, and a couple of Hollywood stars gave Gossip Cop props this week! And after we ran into Lindsay Lohan she gave us a shout-out on Twitter. And Kristen Bell was nice enough to Tweet about Gossip Cop after we corrected an alarmingly wrong Star magazine story about her being awoken by her neighbors who heard her smoke detector after she allegedly fell asleep while cooking eggs. Total eggs-ageration!

Gossip Cop was the first media outlet to confirm on August 18 that Celine Dion was pregnant at 41 with her second child. At the time, her Canadian rep told Gossip Cop Dion and her husband Rene Angelil were “very happy.” Unfortunately, Gossip Cop must now also confirm that that is no longer the case.
Her rep told Gossip Cop, “It is true that Celine is not pregnant.” The rep went on to explain, “The doctor at first thought [the in vitro embryo] took but it did not. So she waited some time and tried again with no success… They plan to try again.”
The couple has one son, Rene-Charles, born in 2001.

Earlier today, huge buzz spread online that Celine Dion would be ending her hiatus and performing again in Las Vegas in early 2011.
The culprit was Ticketmaster, which briefly posted an apparent schedule beginning on March 25 of next year.
Sources close to Dion, however, assure us the performer has no specific timetable, as of now, for a return. She and her husband, Rene Angelil, are trying to add to their family.
Gossip Cop is trying to find out whether there have even been discussions about resumed dates in Las Vegas.
Right now, though, no deals are in place in Las Vegas or anywhere else for Dion.

Dozens and dozens of stars were at the Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles earlier today to record a remake of “We Are the World” to benefit those devastated by the earthquake in Haiti.
Among those lending their voices and support were Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, Carlos Santana, Wyclef Jean, Pink, Jennifer Hudson, the Jonas Brothers, Kanye West, Miley Cyrus, will.i.am, Rob Thomas, Natalie Cole, Josh Groban, Tony Bennett, Katharine McPhee, Justin Bieber, Keri Hilson, Brian Wilson, Akon, Brandy, Gladys Knight, Randy Jackson, Nancy Wilson, Adam Levine, Nicole Richie, Joel Madden, Robin Thicke, Jason Mraz, Faith Evans, Harry Connick Jr., India.arie, Snoop Dogg, T-Pain, Brandy, Julianne Hough, Lil Wayne, Amber Rose, Nicole Scherzinger, and Vince Vaughn.
The benefit single was produced by Quincy Jones, who along with Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, put together the original recording 25 years ago in the exact same studio.
Gossip Cop will update when more participants’ names are confirmed.
The video for the song is reportedly going to begin airing February 11.

Celine Dion is pregnant with twins, her rep confirms.
After undergoing six in-vitro fertilization attempts, Dion is now pregnant again.
The singer is about three and a half months along.
Dion and her husband, Rene Angelil, do not know the sex of the children at this point.
Back in November an in vitro embryo didn’t take, but the couple vowed to “try again.”
Dion, who is 42, is already the mother of a 9-year-old boy René-Charles.

Finally pregnant after several in-vitro fertilization attempts, Celine Dion calls her experience “physically and emotionally exhausting,” but says, “I never gave up.”
In an interview with Le Journal de Montreal, Dion recounts endless fertility treatments and stresses of adding to her family with husband Rene Angelil.
Of his wife’s perseverance, Angelil says, “These treatments were truly hard on my wife’s body. It wasn’t simple at all.”
Their patience was rewarded with the emotional discovery that Dion is carrying twins.
“Each week I had sonograms,” recalls the singer. “I heard their heart beats.”
Dion still expects to launch a new Las Vegas show in 2011 but says, “There are no accomplishments bigger than [motherhood.]”

Like a fish to a rotting worm, the hacks at Hollyscoop were caught and reeled in by another phony story.
According to the poorly reported site, Madonna has “been offered $1 billion dollars to take up a Las Vegas residency,” like such other stars as Celine Dion and Elton John.
Naturally, journalism’s other joker, Perez Hilton, took the bait as well.
“The billion dollar deal would be for five years,” claims Hollyscoop, which adds, “We say do it, Madge! The thought of knowing she’d be in Vegas for five years straight would be music to our ears.”
Perhaps, Hollyscoop should use their ears to hear this…

Celine Dion has been taken to a hospital in Florida to prevent the early delivery of her twins.
A rep for the singer confirms to Gossip Cop that “it’s preventative” and that Dion is not expected to give birth for “one to two weeks.”
The superstar performer is at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach.
On Monday, the hospital released a statement announcing that Dion “has been admitted to prevent the early delivery of her babies, which is the standard of care for any patient with twin pregnancy in this clinical setting.”
Dion and husband Rene Angelil revealed that they were expecting twins in May.
Last November, the couple lost a pregnancy.
They have one son, Rene-Charles, born in 2001.

Celine Dion has given birth to twin boys.
The singer’s new sons were born — healthy — at 11:11 a.m. and 11:12 a.m. in a Florida hospital.
They will spend a short time in an incubator, however, because Dion gave birth prematurely.
Dion was taken to the hospital earlier this week as a precautionary measure.
She and husband Rene Angelil already have a son named Rene-Charles.

Celine Dion‘s newborn twins are healthy enough to go home, and they’ve been released from the hospital.
The performer gave birth to the boys prematurely on Saturday. Since then, they have been in an incubator at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach.
Last night, Dion and husband Rene Angelil took the still-unnamed babies home to join big brother Rene-Charles.

Celine Dion and husband Rene Angelil took their time, but days after the birth of their twin sons, they’ve finally given the little guys names.
The boys are “Eddy” and “Nelson.”
Eddy was chosen, says Dion’s rep, after Eddy Marnay, the producer of the singer’s first five records. “He was like a father to her… a major influence,” says the rep.
And Nelson is named after Nelson Mandela, who Dion met when she kicked off her world tour in South Africa two years ago.
“In just the few minutes they were able to spend with him, [Dion and Angelil] were impressed by the human being he is,” says the rep, who adds, “Celine and Rene want their children to be inspired by their names, because they were so inspired by these men.”
Dion and little Eddy and Nelson left the hospital Wednesday night.

Celine Dion‘s legal team has shut down “Ridiculous Pictures of Celine Dion,” a Tumblr blog that featured the superstar singer making a variety of facial expressions.
The site’s administrator Nick Angiolillo posted, “Celine Dion found our blog, and she didn’t like it. we just got a letter from celine’s lawyers that the blog has to be shut down.”
“[T]hough this blog is well within the realm of ‘fair use,’ i don’t have the money or time to get a lawyer to respond. the dream is over.”
A Dion fan, Angiolillo tweeted, “hmmm getting sorta upset reading all the anti-celine comments [about the site shutting down]. i still love celine… just not her lawyers/PR team.”
While the Dion blog dream is dead, Angiolillo still runs “Star Jones In Hats,” which offers exactly what you’d expect.

Ron Artest loves Celine Dion.
The Los Angeles Lakers star was in Las Vegas this weekend and attended one of his idol’s concerts, taking pictures with her backstage and gushing on Twitter about Dion’s talent.
“Where are all my Celine dion groupies!!! Tweet me!!! I’m a groupie!!!!” wrote the quirky NBA star, who also tweeted lyrics to the singer’s hit “My Heart Will Go On.”
Dion’s effect on Artest was profound.
“Celine made me and all my thug friends cry with the French song!!!!” he later tweeted. “She cried!!! Wow!!!! She hugged me!! I got chills!! My nipples froze!”
Wow.

The first Muscular Dystrophy Association Labor Day telethon without longtime host Jerry Lewis since 1966 will still have plenty of star power.
Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion, Lady Antebellum and Martina McBride will be among the entertainers helping to raise money for research.
Also expected are Steven Tyler, Randy Jackson, Jordin Sparks, Greyson Chance, Darius Rucker and Richie Sambora.
Nancy O’Dell, Alison Sweeney and Nigel Lythgoe will serve as co-hosts.
The show will be shortened from 22 hours to six hours.
It will be broadcast from 6:00 p.m. to midnight on September 4.

A 36-year-old man named Daniel Bedard was arrested on Monday after breaking into Celine Dion‘s Montreal-area mansion.
The singer and her husband, Rene Angelil, weren’t at home at the time.
According to police spokesman, Franco Di Genova, Bedard was fixing himself a warm bath when the police busted him.
Di Genova says, “He opened the water faucets, was pouring a nice warmish bath… [and] he even managed to eat some pastry that was in the fridge.”
Bedard was “coming down the big staircase and was asking, ‘Hey, guys what are you doing here?’” says Di Genova, who notes officers then replied, “What are you doing here?” before placing him under arrest.
According to Di Genova, the suspect jumped a fence to get on to Dion’s property, and then used a garage opener he found in an unlocked car to get into the singer’s mansion.
Bedard was charged yesterday with breaking and entering, auto theft and causing property damage.

Celine Dion called into “Good Morning America” on Monday to discuss fellow pop icon Whitney Houston, and shared her belief that drugs were to blame for the music star’s death.
Dion said, “It’s just really unfortunate that drugs, bad people or bad influence took over. It took over her dreams. It took over her love and motherhood.”

“When you think about Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe and Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse, to get into drugs like that, for whatever reason,” she added.

Dion continued, “Is it because of the stress and bad influence? What happens when you have everything? What happens when you have love, support, the family, motherhood? You have responsibilities of a mother and then something happens and it destroys everything.”
It’s important to note, however, that although Houston’s autopsy was completed on Sunday, no official cause of death has been released yet.

Still, Dion says the party atmosphere in the entertainment industry has left her “scared of hanging out.”
“That’s why I don’t do parties and I don’t hang out,” she said. “That’s why I’m not part of show business. We have to be afraid.”
Dion wondered why the pull to do drugs is sometimes stronger than the support stars have from their own family.

“Taking pills to go perform and taking pills to wake up and taking pills to go to bed. It’s so unfortunate,” she said.
The singer added, “I’ve always said you have to have fun and do music and you can never be part of show business because you don’t what it’s going to get yourself into. You have to do your work and get out of there.”
