Stars are sending condolences to Celine Dion after the death of her husband Rene Angelil.
As Gossip Cop reported, Angelil died on Thursday at age 73 after battling cancer for many years. In addition to children from a previous marriage, he is survived by the three kids he shares with Dion. Angelil managed the superstar’s career for decades, and now celebrities are offering prayers and paying tribute.
“Heartfelt condolences to my friend @celinedion on the passing of her husband Ren Angelil. A dear man & great father,” tweeted Larry King. Michelle Williams wrote, “Wow! We love you so much @celinedion! Prayers to you and your family!” And LeAnn Rimes posted, “My heart and so many prayers go out to the sweet @celinedion She has the biggest heart that I’m sure is broken R.I.P. Rene’ #RIPRene.”
Diane Warren, who penned Dion’s mega-hit “Because You Loved Me,” wrote on Twitter, “Rene Angelil Rest in peace. Thank U for Celine + for giving her my songs Thank U for everything + I’m hoping there r casinos in Heaven RIPRene.” Fellow Las Vegas performer Donny Osmond commented, “My heart breaks for LV ‘neighbor’ & friend @CelineDion. Extremely saddened 2 hear about Rene’s passing. #ReneAngelil.” “The Real” co-host Loni Love also said, “Prayers and Condolences to Celine Dion and her family on the passing of her husband Rene Charles #rip.”
Josh Groban commented, “Rene spoke softly but carried monumental respect. Some of my first moments in this biz are because of him. Love to Celine & their children.” Lance Bass stated, “My heart breaks for @CelineDion tonight. My thoughts are with the family.” Gloria Estefan expressed, “RIP Rene Angélil, great friend & human being!The world will take @celinedion &ur boys into its arms & continue 2 love & care 4 them 4 U.” And Reba McEntire said on Instagram “My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to Celine and her family on the passing of René. He fought a long hard battle. @celinedion #rip.”
“I’m so sorry for your loss, @celinedion! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family,” said Dr. Oz. Devon Sawa expressed, “If I saw Celine Dion right now, I’d give her a big hug. So sad. #Canadian.” And noting the other tragic celebrity deaths this week, Frankie Grande tweeted, “The world lost three extremely inspirational men this week… Alan, Rene Angelil, David you will be missed.”
Even the Staples Center in Los Angeles posted, “Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to @celinedion and her family on the passing of her husband René. He fought a long hard battle #RIP.” And the new Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, wrote, “My condolences to @CelineDion, and to the children, friends and loved ones of Rene Angelil on his passing.”
