Celine Dion has canceled upcoming concerts in Las Vegas due to a virus that’s caused inflammation of her vocal cords.

The singer, who performs at Casears Palace’s Colosseum, has been advised by her doctors to rest for a week to recover, leading to the cancelation of several upcoming shows.

“I feel terrible about not being able to do these shows,” said Dion in a statement.

She continued, “I feel so bad for the fans. I don’t like to let people down… It’s the thing that bothers me more than anything. I really hope everyone understands how sorry I am.”

Refunds will be provided to ticket holders.

Dion is expected to return to the stage on March 3.

We wish her a speedy recovery.

All in all, Dion’s absence is not the worst development in a casino this weekend.

Celine Dion has canceled additional concerts due to the virus inflaming her vocal cords.

Last week, the singer canceled a handful of shows at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas after falling ill.

Now she’s been advised by doctors to rest her voice for six to eight weeks, pushing her stage return to June 9.

Dion flew to Los Angeles on Monday for an additional examination and was diagnosed with “weakness in her right vocal chord, secondary to a viral illness.”

“I guess it was worse than I thought,” said Dion in a statement. “Obviously this is the worst thing for a singer… not being able to do your shows. I feel worse knowing that I’m disappointing my fans. I’m so sorry… I hope they forgive me.”

She’s expected to be back for her run of shows from June 9 to August 19.

Dion is in the midst of a three-year residency at the casino’s Colosseum, which was built for her in 2003.

Celine Dion Victim of Death Hoax

(GettyImages.com)

Celine Dion is the victim of a BOGUS death hoax.

On Thursday, “RIP Celine Dion” became a worldwide trending topic on Twitter, fueling speculation that the singer had died.

It is 100% false.

A rep for the singer tells Gossip Cop it’s “not true.”

Dion is alive and well.

The singer is just the latest celebrity to be “killed” by a prank in which Twitter hoaxsters get “RIP [Celebrity Name]” to trend.

While more and more people quickly recognize these rumors for the dumb hoaxes they are, it’s disgusting that some people think needlessly causing (even momentary) panic is an appropriate use of social media.

CLAIM: Celine Dion “Ditches Wedding Ring” Amid Rene Angelil Marriage Crisis

(National Enquirer)

Celine Dion and Rene Angelil’s marriage is in crisis, reports the National Enquirer.

According to the tabloid, Dion “has removed her wedding ring and looks miserable” in new photos with Angelil, to whom she’s been married for 18 years.

The Enquirer says that at a recent New York concert for her most loyal fans, “the normally outgoing entertainer appeared drawn, haggard, preoccupied… and very tense.”

“Celine ditched her wedding ring and looked stressed out and unhappy to be with Rene,” a so-called “friend” tells the magazine.

Then, because the Enquirer has no additional evidence of any current problems between Dion and Angelil, the tabloid brings in a random “body language expert” to stare at pictures of the performer and say she looks anxious.

Oh, and the mag brings up an old interview in which Dion said she and Angelil had gone through “tough times.”

That’s pretty much all the Enquirer has to back up its cover story implying that the couple is on the brink of a split.

It’s completely untrue.

If the Enquirer had bothered to check, the tabloid might have learned that Dion always takes off her ring to perform, and the picture at the center of this faux controversy was taken when she was going to do her soundcheck.

A source close to the singer tells Gossip Cop the Enquirer report is “lame” and completely baseless.

We’re assured the only trouble between Dion and Angelil is in the tabloid’s imagination.

Celine Dion Puts Career on Hold to Focus on Her Health, Caring for Sick Husband

Celine Dion — and her residency in Las Vegas — are going on an indefinite hiatus.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Dion’s rep says the Grammy winner has “been fighting an illness that has caused inflammation in her throat muscles, and has not been able to perform any of her scheduled shows.”

The main reason for the break, however, is to care for husband Rene Angelil, who has been battling cancer.

Dion “decided to postpone all of her show business activities indefinitely, in order to focus 100 percent of her attention on her husband Rene, their family, and associated health issues,” says the spokesperson.

The statement continues, “Since Rene’s surgery last December to remove a cancerous tumor, it’s been a very difficult and stressful time for the couple as they deal with the day-to-day challenges of fighting this disease while trying to juggle a very active show business schedule, and raise their three young children.”

Dion herself says, “I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband’s healing, and to do so, it’s important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children.”

The hiatus includes the canceling of all upcoming shows at Caesar’s Palace, as well as a scheduled tour of Asia.

“I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them,” says Dion, “and I thank them so much for their love and support.”

Celine Dion Las Vegas Residency August

(Getty Images)

Celine Dion is set to return to Las Vegas in August to resume her Caesars Palace residency, her rep announced on Friday. The 46-year-old singer hasn’t performed any shows in Las Vegas since last summer when she revealed she was taking time off to care for her cancer-stricken husband Rene Angelil.

“It is very emotional for me, and I’m anticipating the emotions to grow more as the date gets closer,” Dion told People. “It’s very touching. Every night is a new show… I promise there will be high, happy notes,” she added.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, Dion’s last show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace was in July 2014. At the time, she was struggling with a throat illness and later announced in August  that she was postponing her Vegas residency “indefinitely” so she could look after her husband.

Angelil has been battling cancer since 1999 and underwent surgery to remove a tumor from his neck in 2013. “I want to devote every once of my strength and energy to my husband’s healing, and to do so, it’s important for me to dedicate this time to him and our children,” Dion said in a statement at the time. Celine Dion performed “Hymne à L’Amour” in a tribute to Paris at the 2015 American Music Awards on Sunday, after an introduction from Jared Leto. Check out the video below.

It was just over a week ago that the French city was rocked by multiple terrorist attacks, which left 130 people dead and hundreds more injured. France is still in a state of mourning, and Dion is among the mourners. Born in Canada and of French-Canadian descent, the music legend began her career as a French-language artist.

Dion’s special performance was just announced on Friday. In a statement, AMAs producer Larry Klein said, “We felt it was important to show our solidarity in light of the recent events in Paris and all around world. Celine’s performance will help us express our feelings through song when words do not suffice.”

“Hymne à L’Amour,” which translates to “Hymn To Love,” is an iconic song originally released by Edith Piaf in 1950. There have been a number of English-language performances over the years, from Bing Crosby and Shirley Bassey to Cyndi Lauper and Patti LaBelle.

In addition to Dion, other musicians have been performing tributes in honor of Paris, too. As Gossip Cop reported, Coldplay sang John Lennon’s “Imagine” the night of the tragedy. And earlier this week, Adele did “Hometown Glory” at her Radio City Music Hall concert taping.

This marks the fifth year NBC has aired a Buble holiday special, following 2014’s “Michael Bublé’s Christmas in New York.” The annual hour-long program is designed to celebrate the season, and each edition has featured the crooner and a bevy of special guests for one-time only performances. This year, Buble enlisted Tori Kelly, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, and Dion.

Buble and Dion teamed up for a moving duet of John Lennon’s “Happy Xmas.” The superstar admitted it’s been a while since she’s sung the track, which she noted she first recorded as a cover in 1998. Dion also did a solo performance of “O Holy Night” earlier in the broadcast.

In addition to the performances, “Christmas In Hollywood” also included a number of comedy bits. Former “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno took part, as did Eva Longoria, the star of the new NBC comedy “Telenovela.” William Shatner, Gigi Hadid, and Kylie Jenner also made appearances.

The special was actually taped last month, and was now broadcast less than a week after Buble released his new Christmas song, “The More You Give (The More You’ll Have).” Check out video of the singer’s performance with Dion below, as well as her solo turn on the stage.

Celine Dion’s husband Rene Angelil has died following a long battle with throat cancer, Gossip Cop confirms. The musician passed away at his Las Vegas home on Thursday morning. He was 73.

Angelil’s rep announced the sad news in a statement that expressed, “The family requests that their privacy be respected at the moment; more details will be provided at a later time.”

Dion has since canceled her performances on Saturday and Sunday at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, but plans to return to the stage on February 23. The singer left her show for some time last year to care for her ailing husband.

He was first diagnosed with throat cancer in 1998. After years of improving health, Angelil’s cancer returned in 2014, at which time he retired as his wife’s manager.

Angelil and Dion wed in 1994. He is survived by the couple’s three children, René-Charles, 14, and 5-year-old twin boys Nelson and Eddy, as well as his three older children, Anne-Marie, Jean-Pierre, and Patrick, from previous marriages.

Celine Dion’s brother Daniel is dying of cancer, Gossip Cop confirms. The sad news comes just one day after the death of Dion’s husband Rene Angelil.

Tragically, now Dion’s rep tells Gossip Cop that Daniel’s death is “imminent.” He is currently in Montreal, where he has been battling cancer in his throat, tongue, and brain. We’re told it “could be hours” or “days” until he succumbs to the illnesses.

Daniel, 59, is one of Dion’s 13 siblings. She is the youngest in their family, which remains based in Canada. Their 89-year-old mother, Therese, is among the relatives currently at his bedside.

Dion was in Nevada Thursday when Angelil, 73, passed away at their Las Vegas home following his own battle with throat cancer. Angelil, whom she wed in 1994, is credited with discovering Dion and turning her into a superstar. He managed her career for decades, before stepping down due to health woes.

Celine Dion will hold a tribute concert in memory of her late husband Rene Angelil at the Caesars Palace Colosseum in Las Vegas on February 3. The event is being dubbed a “Celebration of Life,” in which the singer will honor Angelil’s memory.

As Gossip Cop reported, Angelil died at their Las Vegas home on Thursday following a lengthy battle with throat cancer. He was first diagnosed with the disease in 1998, and his health seemed to have improved until 2014 when the cancer returned.

The 73-year-old former musician discovered Dion when she was just a teen. The two later got married in 1994, and had three children together, Rene-Charles, 14, and 5-year-old twin boys Nelson and Eddy. In Angelil’s obituary, Dion is described as “the great love of his life, the artist for which he had the most respect, the woman who gave him light and happiness until his very last breath.”

Angelil’s funeral will be held at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, the same cathedral where he and Dion were married 21 years ago. On January 21, there will be a public viewing, where fans can pay their respects to Angelil, followed the next day by a religious ceremony for friends and family. In addition to the children he had with Dion, Angelil is also survived by his three older children from previous marriages.
